Phthalocyanine (Pc) is an organic dye with strong absorption in the visible to ultraviolet region, precise control of optical absorption is essential for developing new functional dyes. A widely used strategy involves introducing main group elements, such as phosphorus or silicon, into the Pc core while incorporating electron-donating substituents to fine-tune visible-to-near-infrared (Vis-NIR) absorption properties. This study focused on synthesizing P(V)Pc1 and P(V)Pc2, in which phosphorus reagents (POBr?, PBr?) were employed to modify the optical properties. The new visible absorption band is attributed to intramolecular charge-transfer (ICT) transitions between the central phosphorus atom and the electron-donating substituents. Meanwhile, the redshift of the Soret band indicates that skeletal rearrangement led to symmetry loss, thereby altering the electronic structure of the Pc core.
